OR...when you were creating it, you clicked thru the Next, Next... part too quickly and the pages you were skipping over didn't get a chance to fully load and execute their code, part of which makes the new field "visible" throughout Salesforce.
To check/fix, go to Setup > Object Manager > Lead > Fields & Relationships and look for Investment Potential. If it's not there you need to create it using those steps. If it IS there, then you probably just need to turn on the Visibility by clicking on it (the name, Investment Potential) to open it up and then click on the Set Field-Level Security button. Then click the Visible checkbox at the top of that column to turn on all the checkboxes below and click Save. Then it will show up in that list where you weren't seeing it before.
