Well, in the first 4 steps of Lab 1b, you are deleting the entire Pitch object you made in 1a, including the tab, so that's correct. You should not be seeing the old Pitches tab in 1b. Then as you continue with 1b, you install Max's Pitch Package which includes a new, improved Pitch object and tab which you then add to the Marketing app and that should be showing up now. But sometimes, you have to log out and back in again to see it.
