I can't login to download the app, however I can login to salesforce through the regular developer URL.

I can't login to download the app, however I can login to salesforce through the regular developer URL.
Not sure what you mean - are you trying to install the grader app or are you working on Lab 1b and trying to install Max's Pitch Package. In either case, you should be logged into your SF account already and then click on the link for the package and it will ask you to select the Username again and then start the install.
Please explain more about which you are doing and provide a screencap showing what is going wrong. Thanks!
