Yeah, so you mean Step 56 and Salesforce deleted that button in their latest update a couple of weeks ago and we published a new version of Lab 2a that corrects for that.
But, it sounds like your instructor didn't get the notification we sent and/or didn't download the new version for you, so please email me at tim.hill@themaxlabsproject.com to let me know who that is so I can reach out to him/her to let them know, ok?
In the meantime, here's the new Step 56 from the new version:
Now here's a shortcut—click the little down arrow on the Object Manager tab (upper left) to get a drop-down & select + New Object
