When I try to run the score for my work using the Developer Console, it does not automatically pop up as enter apex code. Is there any way I can get assisted with this.

Yeah, it's not supposed to automatically pop that up. You're missing the step that says you're supposed to open an Execute Anonymous window to paste the code into by holding down the Control key and pressing “E” (CTRL+E)
