How to restore your Lab 1a Pitch object, grade it, and then re-delete it

The steps below tell how to restore your Lab 1a work for grading after deleting it at the start of Lab 1b, but ONLY IF it has been 15 days or less since deleting it. (Salesforce permanently erases anything that has been deleted after 15 days. If it's been longer than that, you'll need to redo Lab 1a in order to get it graded. Sorry.)

After you have graded the work you restored, you will want to delete the Lab 1a Pitch object again so you don't get it confused with the Pitch object that is installed as part of Max' Pitch Package in Lab 1b. The steps below will lead you through the process, including the deletion of the restored Pitch object after it's been graded:

  1. Click the circular character icon in the top right corner and then, in the drop-down, click Switch to Salesforce Classic

  2. Click Setup (next to your name on the upper right)

  3. On the lefthand vertical menu, look below Build and click the little arrow next to Create to drop down some choices

  4. In the list of choices that appears below Create, click Objects

  5. In the central panel that appears, click on Deleted Objects

  6. In the new central panel that appears, click on Undelete, next to Pitch

  7. In the new central panel that appears, click on OK

  8. On the upper right, by your name, click Switch to Lightning Experience

  9. Click the little gear icon on the upper right to drop down a list of choices and select Setup

  10. On the new page that appears, click inside the Quick Find box on the upper left

  11. Type in “tab” (without the quotes)

  12. Underneath that, click on Tabs

  13. In the new central pane that appears, under Custom Object Tabs near the top, click New

  14. In the new central pane that appears, next to Object, click None to drop a menu of choices

  15. Select Pitch from the drop-down menu

  16. Just below that, next to Tab Style, click anywhere on the dark bar to pop up an array of choices

  17. Select Airplane (upper left corner)

  18. Click Next (lower right)

  19. On the new central pane that appears, click Next again (lower right)

  20. In the new central pane that appears, click Save (lower right)

  21. Click the App Launcher ("hamburger" icon; upper left) and select Marketing

  22. Now you should see the new Pitches tab you just created (if not refresh the page until the new one appears) along with the Pitches tab you probably already had for the Pitch object that got installed as part of Max's Pitch Package

  23. Click the Pitches tab on the right (the tab you just created for the Pitch object you just undeleted)

  24. On the new page that appears, you should see the airplane icon on the upper left (if not, you're probably not on the right Pitches tab)

  25. Click on Recently Viewed on the upper left to drop down choices and select All

  26. Click the tiny gear icon on the right below Change Owner (NOT the one at the top right) to drop down choices

  27. Click on Select Fields to Display

  28. In the popup, under Available Fields, highlight Business Name and use the right arrow to move it to Visible Fields

  29. Then do the same for Investment Amount and Equity Percentage in that order

  30. Then click the blue Save button on the lower right of the popup

  31. Use the App Launcher to select the Max Labs Grader

  32. Use the Developer Console to (re-)score your Lab 1a

  33. If you want to make fixes and re-score, you can but you have to make sure you're making those fixes to the undeleted Pitch object–for fixing data, make sure the airplane icon shows up on the upper left of the Pitches tab OR for fixing fields, etc. click on Setup > Object Manager and scroll to the Pitch object that says "Pitch__c" next to it (NOT the one that says "Maxz_Pitch__c") and click the "Pitch__c" one

  34. After you're done (re-)scoring your undeleted Pitch object from Lab 1a, you should delete it again so there's no chance of confusing with the one from Max's Pitch Package–go to Setup > Object Manager > Pitch (the one with Pitch__c" next to it) and click on it

  35. Click on Delete (upper right)

  36. In the popup, click the blue Delete button (lower right) and you're done!
